Our family drove all the way up in two cars from Manhattan in the early 1970's for a major camping trip. photos are in family albums.

After moving to Washington State, I had the opportunity to take ferry rides to Victoria in the 1990's. I remember the flowers, Royal Castle and Wax Museum.

In the late 1990's/ early 2000's my (then) boyfriend and I often traveled to see his family and friends here.

Three-hour drive from Seattle, but first you cross the border at the Peace Arch.

The further north you go in British Columbia, the wilder the terrain and the colder the temperatures, but always beautiful.

The two things I'll always remember about Prince George besides it's Alaska-like beauty is the amazing color of the lakes here and the sight of small trees growing almost horizontally along snowy grounds like out in the tundra of the north pole.
