People hanging out on parked cars, corners and stoops. This shop is diagonally across from my old building on the corner of Sherman Ave. and Academy St.

Looks the same as it always has outside. The tree out front was planted and grown after I moved so it is a new addition to the block.

My building lobby seemed much smaller than I remembered. I forgot about the intercom buttons to enter the building but I just waited for someone to come out.

How many times have I walked on this 2? In kid sneakers, roller skates, prom wedgies, summer flip-flops and winter boots.

Not for now, but there's a fascinating & creepy story about this apartment (and the building itself) where we lived for 13 years. Yes, this is an orb! It's reflected against the wall to the right and there is nothing metallic on either door for the flash to have reflected on. The photo i took prior to this one showed only a black cloud at the end of the hall...so..ponder away. More on this in a future venue/website/book

The roof has not been painted in over 20 years. It's the same color it was when I left NYC. More chippy as of 2008. Humidity does that I believe.

Hazy, hot, humid, quieter the higher up you are in a building away from street noise. This is a view of Fort Tryon Park and apartments along Dyckman Street.

Another childhood memory (location) that seems to live on unchanged. My best childhood friend Samantha and I always ran up and down these steps to her apartment. Our friend Gerri lived to the right of the steps. As of 2016 the original stairwell and it's features are at very least 100 years old.

Olde World craftmanship. One of the things I took for granted growing up here is the character of materials, design and details that New York architecture holds. Look at the iron twists, the carefully layed hexagon tile, marble steps.

Stuck in slight traffic I took a quick minute to shoot a pic of the beautiful designs on the bridge fence.

My friends and I liked this playground the best because it had the "big kid" swings and because it's within walking distance of the Hudson River where there's also a huge baseball field.

This was/is easy, free and fun entertainment for all neighborhood kids.We always walked around the blocks soaking wet. If we got hot again later, we got back in the hydrant.
