Just looking at the building from up the block gave me a strange chill. My first impression was that is was an asylum. Outside the building feels that way. www.manresacastle.com.

Featured on America's Most Haunted Places. Despite it's history and strangeness, the edifice is quite beautifully constructed. It seems out of place occupying a normal block, across the street from a QFC.

Not until the next morning (October 21, 2012) did I know I could see Manresa from the Inn. Ironically my room number (302) is the same as the supposed creepiest room at Manresa.

The original furnishings and interior details have been maintained and refurbished. The room felt like going back in time.

Before seeing the TV program which aired years after my visit, I immediately felt something very wrong with this area of the building. I literally could not get past the stairs. Overwhelming oppresion, like walking into a wall of doom met me at the landing. I noticed other people avoiding the stairs too and spoke to a few employees who were visably shaken just talking about the "kitchen downstairs".

Port Townsend is very old (Victorian era) yet it also holds contemporary creative shops and art galleries.

I love this kind of stuff!

This is one of the largest antiques shops I've wandered into. The whole establishment is about a block long and has two floors. Beautiful brass and crystal things!

I had to photograph these. This is the kind of detail one also finds in old New York City. There was a time when detailed craftmanship went into architecture.

I sat here eating a lovely scoop of Tomato/Basil/Cinnamon icecream from Elevated Ice Cream & Candy Shop on Water Street.
