Onward
http://grandcanyon.com/ I took this photo near the souvenier shop.
Lone Trunk
The contrast between this branchy trunk and the scene behind it is striking.
Deepness
I adored the various colors sifting down through the Earth. Layers of time.
A River Runs Through It
You can see a bit of the river in some spots!
Daring!
These young ladies climbed over the safety fence to take photos. Many onlookers were shocked.
A Bit of Sun
Some of the clouds moved away enough for bits of sun to shine on parts of the cliffs. It looks like they are glowing from within.
Magical
A heavenly image that there are almost no words for.
Diversity Gathers
There were so many people from various places, which made being among them a wonderful experience.
Classic Shot
A couple offered to take some photos of me (for me).
On and On
It seems like a world of mesas that extend as far as the eye can see. Beautiful!
Yabba Dabba Do
I didn't have time to wander around here because it was across the road from where I was getting gas on my way back to the resort.
Evening Drive
For some reason this special cloud reminded me of my Grandma, and I felt happy.
Special Place
Bell Rock was my favorite place on the whole trip I think. Sort of like the "Empire State Building" of Sedona.
Twisted
Juniper trees in vortex areas end up looking like this due to the Energy pull.
Cairns
I liked finding this space where other hikers honor the area by building Cairns. I built one too.
Clouds Like Washington
The misty cloud resting atop the mesa reminded me of how the mists sift between mountains and hills in WA.
Climbing
It was like being in a movie where the prize to be rescued was always just a little farther up
Cathedral Rock
One of the breathtaking views from Cathedral Rock trail. The sun started to pop out a bit.
Close Up
Another shot of the cliffs across from Cathedral Rock.
This Is the Life
Red rock, hiking boots, a view. What more does anyone really need?
Shadow
These berries which fell off a nearby tree looked so amazing mixed in with the red stones.
A Quick Stop
If I were to get every potentially perfectly awesome photo, I would have had to stop the car almost every other minute. The light and colors change constantly.
Bold and Bright
Gotta love the color and shape play here.
Airport Mesa 1
View from this hike was probably the best of the three hikes I took on Thursday 9/22/16.
Airport Mesa 2
The clouds, sun and earth danced together with form, light and color. It was like a moving painting.
Airport Mesa 3
I love the quote from my niece "It's like Mars with plants."
Peach and Rust
Another Airport Mesa shot. Each photo I took varied from the one before. One could probably sit at the saddle forever and never get the same photo.
Dramatic End
A dark cloud rolled eastward allowing the setting sun to create it's own open display. Lovely.
