Into the Valley
July 22, 2011 I went to attend the funeral of a close friend's mother, so found myself on the "desert side". When you live among trees, "dry" land actually holds some appeal, allowing the eyes to settle on earthy colors for a change.
Mount Hood
A lovely image from the road. It's interesting how large mountains far away occasionally appear to be close enough to touch.
Wind Turbines
There are more of these on the east side of Washington, where the winds blow harder.
Feeling Sheepish
There are lots of farms along the highway. This one had sheeps and lambs...so cute!
Flatness
When the sun shines in the valley, the ability to see for miles is great.
Mount Hood and Farm
This one of my faves and may turn this photo into a painting some time. The roof echoes the shape of the mountain top.
Rolllng Hills and Turbines
This is a wonderful depiction of your typical Eastern Washington sight along the roadways.
Solo Farmhouse
Striking contrast between the shape of the farmhouse against the stark blue sky. And yes, it was hot outside!
